A popular post on the blogosphere today, from Jeremiah Owyang, makes two observations:
- Many businesses have rushed to jump in to social media, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. BUT …
- In doing so they haven’t always established strategy and regulations around how they will handle social.
According to the post, “enterprise class corporations have an average of 178 social media accounts and this number will only grow if left unchecked.”
That’s a lot of accounts! And as more social networks come on the scene, it’s easy to see how companies could have upwards of 200 accounts. Jeremiah’s post offers several resources for how to handle these issues – definitely worth checking out!
