Matt oversees the company’s strategy, manages operations and continually seeks social commerce innovation for ShopIgniter customers. Prior to ShopIgniter, Matt was a venture partner at Madrona Venture Group. Prior to Madrona, Matt spent several years at Yahoo most recently as VP Media and Strategic Partnerships. He previously ran product and marketing for Music and headed up sales and marketing for the Business Services division, which included Yahoo Store. Prior to joining Yahoo, Matt was CEO and co-founder of uShock, a local portal company.

Matt has a BA degree, cum laude, in Economics and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA with distinguished service honors from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He is on the non-profit board of the Access Fund and enjoys being active in the outdoors with his wife and two children: skiing, climbing, and cycling (regardless of weather) across the Pacific Northwest.

Brent has over 12 years of software engineering and software architecture experience in environments ranging from interactive agencies to SaaS providers, in projects ranging from complex desktop applications to n-tiered enterprise systems to eCommerce web applications, utilizing technologies from both the Microsoft and the Open Source worlds. With the time spent in the interactive agency world, working directly with clients, Brent has developed the keen abilities to discern unspoken client requirements and assuage client concerns. When not working, Brent can be found running around or exploring Portland and the rest of the Pacific Northwest.

With 20 years of business experience acquired at Fortune 500 and startup companies Tom provides a unique passion for the promise of technology as a catalyst for human connection which enables him to bring a refreshing approach to enterprise building. Having worked with Fortune 500 and Global 100 brands in almost all industries Tom possesses the capacity and business savvy to transform concept to reality. Over the past 7 years he has served as a leading member and COO of EthicsPoint Inc, a SaaS based platform player in the post Sarbanes Oxley compliance market. Fully committed to building great teams and companies Tom serves as an Advisory Board Member for Napkin Labs, Zapproved, and HNH Productions and was a past member of the board of trustees at the Oregon College of Art and Craft.

Kevin comes to ShopIgniter with 13 years of experience in eCommerce and Social Media. Previously the VP of Business Development for the Dachis Group and Co-founder of StepChange, he oversaw the strategy and development of more than 250 social media experiences for leading brands and agencies. Prior to the advent of social media, Kevin was VP of Marketing for Unicru/Kronos, an enterprise Retail SaaS provider, and Fort Point Partners. Having started as a web programmer and DBA in 1995, Kevin helped Fort Point to create some of the web’s first integrated eCommerce sites for clients like JCrew, BestBuy and even Egghead.com. Kevin holds a degree in International Relations from Stanford University, which he admits doesn’t seem to have much to do with his career path.

Prior to joining ShopIgniter, Dan had been the CTO for White Horse, a leading interactive agency where he was responsible for the web technology development of the Columbia Sportswear site, and many other clients including Cisco and Visa. With over 20 years of experience, Dan has been the technical wizard behind numerous start-ups including Fyreball.com, EventSpace.com, and ZingDing.com. When Dan is not working on the next big thing at ShopIgniter, he spends his time with his family, eats Paleo, trains Cross Fit, and competes in marathons throughout the Pacific Northwest.

With 15 years of development and ecommerce experience, Alan is directly responsible for the innovative ideas, roadmap and future direction of the platform. Working closely with the technical expertise of the development team, those ideas are turned into reality. In his spare time (about one day per month) Alan enjoys racing vintage Porsche’s at the Portland International Raceway.

Prior to Madrona, Matt spent several years at Yahoo most recently as VP Media and Strategic Partnerships. He previously ran product and marketing for Music and headed up sales and marketing for the Business Services division, which included Yahoo Store. Prior to joining Yahoo, Matt was CEO and co-founder of uShock, a local portal company and a founding partner of M2 Consulting, a product and marketing strategy consultancy.

Dave was the Founding CEO (and later Chairman) of Jive Software, a Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins backed growth company. In that role, his vision and leadership grew the company from its inception as a small open source project with no revenue to a $55M, pre-IPO company. Jive became the hands-down leader of the Social Business Software revolution, with leadership positions in three separate Gartner Magic Quadrants. Prior to Jive, Hersh was the CFO at 4charity and a strategy consultant at VIA International, a boutique consultancy in Chicago and London. Dave earned his BA in Economics at DePauw University.

Tom Alberg is a Founder and Managing Director of Madrona Venture Group. Mr. Alberg currently serves as a director for Madrona portfolio companies ShopIgniter, Mercent, Impinj, and SinglePoint. In addition, he serves on the board of Amazon.com. Mr. Alberg served as President of LIN Broadcasting Corporation and Executive Vice President of McCaw Cellular Communications, Inc. prior to co-founding Madrona Investment Group in 1995. Previously, Mr. Alberg was Chairman of the Executive Committee and Partner in the Northwest’s largest law firm, Perkins Coie, and was previously an attorney with Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York. He was co-chairman of the capital campaign for the Computer Science Department of the University of Washington. A graduate, cum laude, of Harvard College, Mr. Alberg received his law degree from Columbia Law School where he was an editor of the Law Review.

Larry Orr has been with Trinity Ventures since 1989. Previously, he worked for five years at Hewlett-Packard where he held a range of marketing and management positions within the Information Network Group. Earlier in his career, Larry worked with New York investment firm Niederhoffer, Cross and Zeckhauser on mergers and acquisitions, and with Bain & Company, a leading management consulting firm.

In additional to ShopIgniter, Larry is an active member of the Board of Directors for several technology companies within the Trinity portfolio, including GridIron Systems, MSpot, Perfect Market, Skyfire and Vimo.
